What will we be doing at the EDGE Drivers Clinic?
The day is a mixture of instruction and in-car exercises. There will be some instruction time but the majority of the day will be spent driving. When driving, the student is put though a collection of exercises based on real world scenarios. They work on skid control; go through lane change/accident avoidance maneuvers; perform threshold breaking/ABS exercises; and drive a slalom course to learn about weight transfer. Where possible, we do a tailgating exercise. Students will also learn about proper seating position and hand positions, mirror placement, the concept of the contact patch of their tires, the theories of weight transfer, the use of long distance vision, and situational awareness. We talk about the challenges of distractions to the driver, be it the radio, iPods, phones for talking or texting or just the simple cause of too many teens in the car.
Our Full 1-Day Session is from 9am to 4pm with an hour break for lunch. We provide lunch for each student during our 1-Day Session. Lunch can be provided for parents staying for the day at an additional cost.
Our Half Day AM Session is from 9am to Noon and Half Day PM Session is from 1pm to 4pm.

Who is the EDGE Drivers Clinic instructor?
Lead Instructor Deron Schroeder is a professional stunt driver, who enjoys sharing his knowledge and skills with each student. He has been exposed to all levels of car control techniques. He possess a unique ability to communicate all of his experience in a manner that gets through to teens. His commitment to safety and enthusiasm for driving adds up to a truly unique, hands-on day of learning for all drivers.
Does the EDGE Drivers Clinic provide vehicles?
Yes. The clinic takes place in one of our specially designed vehicles.
Can students drive their own vehicle?
No. Due to insurance and location restraints, we cannot allow students to conduct the drills in their own vehicle. We believe that the experience they will receive in our vehicle will translate to any vehicle they operate.
Where are classes located?
Our sessions are located at the Deer Park Airport in Deer Park, WA. Access to the airport is via Missile Site Road. From Deer Park head East on Crawford which turns in to Deer Park-Milan Rd. Turn North on Missile Site Rd.
Are parents required to attend?
Parents of minors will need to be present at the start of the session to sign a release. We do not require that parents stay for the class, but we strongly suggest that they do. Join the session to familiarize yourself with the material your child is learning. And who knows, even though you've been driving for many years, there just may be a few things that are new to you as well.
We also feel that the importance of driving education and seriousness of this issue is reinforced when your teen driver sees you taking an active interest in what they are doing.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds of deposit or any session fees will be given if notice is received 10 days prior to scheduled session date. Cancellations less than 10 days prior to session date forfeit the deposit. No refunds of deposit or class fees in the case of no show on session date. All cancellations are subject to a $25 Administrative Fee.
